BS 7671:A2 2022

BS7671 Amendment 2 (A2) wiring regulations went ‘Live’ today.We as Electricians can install to either A2 or A1 for 6 months BUT must install to A2 by 28th September 2022.PBW Electrics Ltd will as soon as all software is ready be installing to A2, any pre booked in jobs will be installed to existing regulations.Their is some major changes that will affect NEW electrical works.Some of the changes are listed below, PM for any further details.1. Arc Fault Detection Devices ( AFFD) up to 32A on sockets are required in blocks of flats, HMOs, student accommodation and any building over 18m high.2. Surge Protection installed - we install as standard on all consumer unit upgrades.3. RCDs required on all sockets up to 32A which can be used by children.4. Type AC RCDs are not to be used for any fixed loads which have a DC components - most appliances have DC components. We only fit Type A as standard which prevents this.PBW Electrics Ltd
